Storefront window cleaning price: how to price a route
Updated November 1, 2026 · QuoteCubby
How to turn minutes per panel into a per-visit price for shops and offices, why route stops can cost less than one-off visits, and how to check the whole route.
How storefront work is different
- Big panels, mostly outside. Some shops only want the outside glass on most visits, with inside glass less often. Ask.
- Repeat visits. Shops may want a regular schedule (weekly, every two weeks or monthly). Glass that’s cleaned often is usually quicker each visit; check that with your own timer.
- Short hops between stops. On a route, the drive between shops can be a few minutes instead of a separate trip.
Build a per-visit price from your minutes
- Time yourself on a few panels, outside only and inside and out.
- Count the panels at each shop (doors count as panels).
- Add a short setup (bucket, pole, ladder) and the minutes to the next stop.
- Price that time at your hourly target, add supplies and gas.
- Set a route minimum for regular stops and a higher minimum for one-off visits.
Example: outside-only visits on a route
| Panels (outside only) | Work minutes | Price per visit | Real $/hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 23 | $30 | $62.28 |
| 8 | 40 | $45 | $57.94 |
| 12 | 58 | $60 | $56.04 |
Example settings, not market rates: large-window minutes set to 8 (inside and out), outside only at 55% of that time, 5 setup minutes, $1 of supplies, 1 mile and 5 minutes to the next stop, $60 per hour target, a $30 route minimum, rounded up to $5. Change any of these in the calculator.
The same 8-panel shop cleaned inside and out comes to $75. As a one-off call-out with the calculator’s $150 minimum, the 8-panel outside visit would be $150: that’s the difference between a route stop and a separate trip.
Check the whole route, not just one stop
With the example numbers, 8 stops like the 8-panel shop take about 362 minutes of work and driving and bring in $360. Divide what the route brings in by all the time it takes, including the drive to the first stop and back, to see what it really pays per hour.
Put it in writing
For each shop, write down the panels included, inside or outside, the schedule, the price per visit and what happens on weather days. The free printable price sheet has space for your own per-visit prices.

Should I charge storefronts per pane or per visit?
A flat price per visit is usually easier for a shop owner to understand. Build it from your minutes per panel and quote one visit price. Keep your per-panel minutes on your own sheet.
Why can a storefront route be cheaper per stop?
When several shops are a few minutes apart, the drive and setup are shared across the route instead of charged to one client. That only works if the stops really are close together and on a schedule.
Should storefronts have a minimum?
Yes, but it can be a route minimum (for stops on your regular route) and a higher one-off minimum for a single call-out. Decide both before you quote.
