How to turn one visit into a monthly price, what published sources say about frequency, and why the drive between stops matters.

What published sources say about frequency

SourceSchedulePrice
Angi (Aug 2026)Weekly$80–$150 per week
Angi (Aug 2026)Biweekly$120–$200 per month
Angi (Aug 2026)Monthly$150–$300 per month
HomeGuideWeekly or bi-weekly service$80–$150 per month
HomeGuideOne monthly visit, saltwater pool$80–$95 per month

Angi notes that ongoing contracts tend to lower the per-visit price compared to one-time calls.

Turn a visit into a monthly price

Weekly service is 52 visits a year, or about 4.33 a month. Every 2 weeks is 26 visits, about 2.17 a month. Price one visit from your time, chemicals and vehicle cost, multiply, and round up:

Medium pool, full servicePer monthAbout per visitReal $/hour
Weekly$170$39.23$39.31
Every 2 weeks (+20% time per visit)$100$46.15$43.68
Large pool, every 2 weeks$125$57.69$44.77

Example only, using the calculator’s starter numbers: $55 per hour target, 25 minutes of cleaning for a medium pool on weekly full service (15% less for a small pool, 35% more for a large one), 5 minutes of setup, $8 of chemicals per visit with a 15% markup, 5 miles and 15 minutes of driving per stop at $0.35 per mile, $100 monthly minimum, $150 one-time minimum, rounded up to $5. These are not market rates. The every-2-weeks price for a medium pool hits the $100 monthly minimum.

The drive between stops

Your real hourly pay counts the drive. With the same weekly pool, 25 minutes and 10 miles per stop instead of 15 minutes and 5 miles raises the cost-based price from $170 to $175 a month, and the real pay still drops from $39.31 to $31.51 per hour. That’s why pool routes are built around tight neighborhoods.

Write it in the quote

  • The monthly price and the visit day, and what happens on holidays or storm weeks.
  • What a visit includes (skim, brush, vacuum, baskets, water test, chemicals).
  • What is extra: filter cleans, green-pool recovery, repairs and parts.
  • Payment terms (many services bill monthly in advance).

FAQ

Should I charge weekly or monthly?

Most pool services quote a flat monthly price for weekly service, so the client pays the same amount each month. HomeGuide lists $80–$150 per month for weekly or bi-weekly cleaning.

Is every-2-weeks service cheaper?

Per month, yes, but each visit usually takes longer because more debris and algae build up. Angi lists biweekly service at $120–$200 per month.

How much does driving matter?

A lot. On a route, the drive between stops can take as long as the cleaning. Keep stops close together, or charge more for pools far from your route.
